Dr. Nahida Islam graduated from Sir Salimullah Medical College and completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UMass Memorial Hospital. Born in Bangladesh, she was inspired to treat cancer after her grandmother's illness. She now cares for patients with many types of cancer, including lung and head and neck cancers. Dr. Islam focuses on caring for the whole person, supporting both physical and emotional needs during cancer treatment. She is encouraged by new, targeted therapies that bring more hope and improved outcomes to patients. On weekends, she enjoys hiking, cooking, trying new foods, and traveling with her family.
